Jan Smith joined 4Ward Development in April 2010 and brings over 20 years of experience in human resources, training and development. Her specialist areas include food safety and environmental health.

Jan was previously worked for food manufacturer RF Brookes in Newport, where she trained as a HR and training coordinator..

Jan holds a number of professional qualifications including a Certificate in Training Practice, an Advanced Certificate in Food Hygiene and a Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) qualification. Jan is also a member of the Institute of Management services (IMS),, Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) and Chartered Institute of Environmental Health (CIEH).

Jan is a mother of two with four grandchildren. In her spare time she enjoys walking her dogs, holidaying in sunny Cornwall. Her latest project is renovating a picturesque cottage with her husband.
